The Disney Store - My wife and I recently visited the Disney Store at Downtown Disney in Anaheim to find some characters for our grandson. My wife was doing the shopping, I was just killing time. I started to look at the stuff the store was selling and noticed that everything I seemed to pick up was made in China. After looking at about eight to ten items I wondered if all the stuff in the store was made in China. For the next 45 minutes - the length of time it took my wife to find what she was looking for - I looked at as many products as I could to determine where they were made. One hundred percent were made in China! I tried, but could not find anything made in the U.S.A. My search was not scientific, rather I walked around the store picking up products at random and checked the labels. I am not against global trade, but in my opinion, there should be some balance. I have not checked lately, so perhaps Disney is a Chinese company!

Dave, first off, I apologize for the long delay in responding to your great post ...nearly a year ago. We have a new look for the blog, and we're getting it up and running again. You make a fantastic point about purchasing drywall from China when we have the best in our own backyard...literally. We have some of the very best materials, processes, and workers right here in the U.S. But of course....price drives everything, and dealers want to make more and more profit. It's what I call the ongoing quest for near-zero pricing. Tough to compete with that!

Glen, This is great!! I have another thing you may want to consider. Some time ago, I purchased a few sheets of drywall. When I tried to cut it, the edges were real rough and I had to trim them. Never having the problem before, I looked closer at the sheet. You guessed it "Made in China". Here we are in Colorado, with possibly the premier manufacturer of drywall in the town of Gypsum, and we are importing from CHINA??
Makes no sense, and I don't buy from that dealer anymore.
Thanks!!!
